Everton readying move for Williams

The Daily Star understand that Everton will move for Swansea City’s Ashley Williams if they sell John Stones to Chelsea.

Stones has been linked with a big money move to Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Merseyside outfit so far reluctant to negotiate but with the transfer deadline looming and the reigning champions yet to win, they could return with an offer to good to refuse.

Swans’ captain Williams has been regularly linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium over the past few years and his manager Garry Monk would not let him go without a fight.

The thirty year old moved to the South Wales club initially on loan in the 2007/08 campaign, helping them clinch promotion from League One to the Championship and then on to the top flight in 2011.

In total he has made three hundred and eighteen appearances for Swansea, scoring twelve times.
