Everton reject Arsenal bid for Jagielka

Everton have rejected Arsenal bid for Phil Jagielka worth £10 million, according to The Mirror.

The Toffees had earlier rejected several offers from the Gunners and they look determined to keep hold of their star player.

The experienced defender has only signed a new four-year deal in March and Everton’s valuation of the player is much higher than £10 million.

Arsenal had a £12 million bid for Jagielka rejected last summer, so it is really not clear what they were looking to achieve with their latest offer.

Arsene Wenger is desperately short on quality in the back line, but it looks as though he will have to break the bank if he wants to sign the England international.

The Gunners have also been linked with moves for Gary Cahill and Chris Samba this summer.
