Everton have signed forward James McFadden on a free transfer until the end of the season, the Toffees have announced on their official website.
The Scottish forward has been a free agent since he was released by Birmingham City earlier this summer.
McFadden now returns to Everton, where he spent four years before joining Birmingham City.
The player missed an entire last season with a serious knee injury and is hoping to finally get some playing time.
“It’s been difficult, obviously I missed all of last season and I’ve missed all of this season so far – it’s been hard mentally and physically.” McFadden told Everton TV.
“But hopefully I’ll come back mentally stronger and will be able to play as well as ever.
“I’ve been training for the last six weeks and everything feels fine the next step is to play in a reserve game and try and get back in the first team as soon as possible.
“I trained this morning it went well and I’m glad I’ve got the chance to come back and I want to make my mark.”
