Everton set to beat rivals to sign Atsu

Everton are winning the race to sign Chelsea’s Christian Atsu on loan, according to the Mail Online.

The Toffees smashed their transfer record this week by paying Chelsea £28m for Romelu Lukaku, and the clubs look set to do business again for highly rated winger Atsu.

The 22 year old moved to Stamford Bridge last summer, but spent the entirety of last season at Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivise, where he scored five times in twenty-eight league appearances.

He was also part of Ghana’s World Cup squad, featuring in all three of their games in Brazil this summer.

Sunderland and Celtic have also been linked with a move for the winger, who began his senior career in Portugal with Porto, while he spent the 2011/12 campaign on loan at Rio Ave.

Everton kick-off their 2014/15 campaign with a trip to newly promoted Leicester City, where they can be backed at 11/8 for the win.
