Everton manager David Moyes finally landed a new signing on Tuesday as Denmark defender Lars Jacobsen joined the Premier League club on a free transfer.
Jacobsen, 28, agreed a one-year deal after being released by German club Nuremberg last season and the right-back could make his debut in Saturday's Premier League fixture against Portsmouth.
Moyes had found it impossible to bring in new signings since the end of last season and injuries forced him to field several youth academy graduates in Everton's win at West Bromwich on Saturday.
The Toffees boss hopes Jacobsen is the first of several arrivals after suggesting he wants “six or seven” new players before the transfer window shuts next week.
