Everton want to sign Jesse Lingard from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that the Toffees want to sign an attacking midfielder when the transfer window opens in January, and former West Ham United loanee Lingard is on their radar.
Former Newcastle United and Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, now in charge of Everton, is an admirer of Lingard, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. The Merseyside club want to sign the 28-year-old on loan in the January transfer window with the option to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2022.
Lingard spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United and helped the Hammers finish in the Europa League places in the Premier League table. The 28-year-old is struggling for playing time at Manchester United at the moment.
