Everton want Metz defender Fabien Centonze

Everton are interested in signing Fabien Centonze from Metz in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that Centonze is on the radar of the Toffees, who want to strengthen at right-back.

Seamus Coleman is the first-choice right-back at Everton at the moment and is also the club captain. But the Republic of Ireland international is 33 now, and Everton manager Rafael Benitez wants to sign a new right-back to compete with him.

Centonze is valued at £8 million and has a contract with Metz that runs until the summer of 2024. The 25-year-old Frenchman has scored four goals and provided one assist in 16 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season. Centonze has also scored one goal in three Coupe de France games.
