Everton are interested in signing Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports. The report has claimed that the Toffees have made an offer to the Magpies in order to bring the midfielder to Goodison Park this month.
However, Newcastle do not want to sell Longstaff in the January transfer window and want to keep hold of the 24-year-old midfielder. Everton manager Rafael Benitez worked with the English midfielder when he was in charge of Newcastle and rates him highly.
Longstaff has made nine starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process. The Englishman made 15 starts and seven substitute appearances in the league for the Magpies last season, providing one assist in the process.
