David Moyes, EvertonÂ’s manager is looking to bolster his midfield after the departure of thirty four year old Lee Carsley for Birmingham City in May.
Carsley did not wish to extend his contract with the Liverpool based club.
The player most likely to fill the vacant berth is the versatile twenty one year old Tom Huddlestone.
The asking price appears to be around ₤6 million.
Huddlestone can also double as a central defender as well as control the midfield with his physical presence.
With Tottenham Hotspurs coach Juande Ramos envisaging many changes in player personnel, it is likely that Carsley may wish to terminate his contract, even though it is only due to expire in 2011.
