Chilean side Everton have won the national championship for the first time in 32 years after a 5-0 aggregate win over Colo Colo in the final.
Colo Colo began the clash aiming for a fifth consecutive championship in this Apertura tournament, but knew that this had become difficult after the 2-0 defeat in the first leg.
Everton, who began the year fighting against relegation, were never really troubled by their opponents in the second leg either.
Although the first half went by without goals, it didn’t take long in the second half for Ezequiel Miralles to break the deadlock. Jaime Riveros and again Miralles set the final score to 3-0.
