Competition: Premier League
Market: Roberto Martinez next manager to exit his post
Odds: 7/1 @ Betfair
Everton lost 2-0 to Stoke City last night, which not only sees their chances of finishing in the top-half dwindle, but also puts pressure on manager Roberto Martinez. The Toffees are currently 14th in the Premier League, with 28 points from as many games. Everton have now lost three consecutive away outings, and have picked up just one league win in 12 games.
As a result, some angry supporters are requesting the immediate sacking of Martinez, who last season led the Blues to their highest ever points tally in the division, as well as securing Europa League football this season. But a lack of goals and victories in the top-flight threatens to tarnish his reputation on Merseyside.
His isn’t the only manager under pressure, however, with Sam Allardyce (West Ham) in particular enduring the fury of the fans following a poor run of form with the Londoners. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is also in trouble for a lack of wins in the Premier League. But Betfair are giving odds of 7/1 for Roberto Martinez to be the next manager to exit his post.
