Everton’s Seamus Coleman Eyeing Win at Arsenal

Republic of Ireland international Seamus Coleman told the club’s official website that Everton are going to the Emirates to win the three points.

Coleman also pointed out that the Toffees have undergone a bit of bad luck in the last few games versus Manchester Untied and Liverpool, but his confidence remained in tact that Everton could take three points against the Gunners.

“We are going to try and win the game like we always do. Sure it would be good to come out with at least a point but we always feel we can beat the big teams when we come up against them.

“It will be tough, no doubt about it, but we are going there to try and win.

“It will be hard to keep a clean sheet but that’s what we will be looking to do and then get a goal at the other end. It is not going to be easy but we will be confident.”

Everton are coming off of a disappointing home loss to Stoke City and will be keen on avenging last week’s loss on Saturday.

That being said, beware of Robin van Persie.

“We were disappointed on Sunday, we thought going into the game we could make it three wins on the bounce,” added Coleman.

“But it was difficult, we could not break them down and it was not to be. Now we have a massive game at the Emirates and there is no better place to put it right.

“[Arsenal] started slowly but they have got great quality in their team and it would be nice to stop them on Saturday. Robin van Persie is fantastic, his finishing is brilliant and he always looks like he is going to score.

“And I am sure it will be a bit weird for Mikel Arteta playing against Everton for the first time. He was at the Club so long and is loved by everyone here and it will be a big day for him, but on the day, we will be looking to get one over him.”

One way Everton can turn their season around is to stop conceding early goals. The Toffees have fallen behind in nine of their 10 matches at Goodison, a rather appalling statistic.

“It is becoming a bad habit, you don’t want to concede at any time but to concede early doors you have to claw your way back into the game and it’s always difficult,” said Jack Rodwell.
