Former Brazilian international striker Ewerthon is to join Brazil powerhouses Palmeiras from Spanish First Division side Real Zaragoza ending a 10-year stay in Europe.
The 28-year-old has barely played for Zaragoza this term, having played a major part in gaining them promotion last season when he scored 28 goals.
“Real Zaragoza has come to an agreement with Ewerthon and Palmeiras for him to be transferred there,” Zaragoza announced in a statement.
Ewerthon, who scored 57 goals in all for Zaragoza since he joined them in 2005 from Borussia Dortmund, also had loan spells with Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart and Zaragoza’s Spanish rivals Espanyol.
