Competition: Premier League
Market: Tim Sherwood to be next Aston Villa manager
Odds: 4/6 @ Ladbrokes
Following the sacking of Paul Lambert at Aston Villa, there are a host of names being linked with the vacancy. Despite the Midlands club having recently dropped into the relegation zone, there’s plenty of interest from former Premier League bosses, who could take the position on an interim basis.
Ex-Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood is one of them, with the experienced coach having enjoyed a successful spell at White Hart Lane before his controversial departure. He’s a manager more of the attacking philosophy, who also pits his focus on the young players in the side. Considering Aston Villa’s impressive academy that continues to churn out players forcing their way into the first-team, Sherwood could be a good fit.
He’s not the only name being mentioned, however, with another former Spurs manager in Glenn Hoddle being linked with the vacancy, as well as Burnley’s Sean Dyche and ex-Swansea manager Michael Laudrup. Sherwood is the current front-runner, however, with Ladbrokes giving odds of 4/6 for the 46-year-old to be appointed next Aston Villa manager.
