A stoppage-time equaliser from Josh Coulson gave Cambridge United a 2-2 draw against Wrexham in the FA Cup first round on Friday.

The centre-back forced a replay between the Conference Nationals teams with his close-range effort – his second goal of the game – at Abbey Stadium.

Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell twice put his team ahead, but Coulson also hit a brace to ensure the teams will head the Racecourse Ground for a second meeting.

His late equaliser came after an error from Wrexham goalkeeper Joslain Mayebi.

Goalkeeper Danny Naisbitt’s long clearance found Coulson, who had been pushed into attack, and Mayebi let the defender’s floating shot through his arms and into the net before falling to the ground in disbelief.
