(GSM) – The woodwork was hit five times and two penalties were missed in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Portsmouth in the 2010 FA Cup final.

Chelsea could have taken the lead early on when a distance strike from Frank Lampard hit the outside of the post.

Not much later, Salomon Kalou’s effort on a cross from Ashley Cole bounced off the crossbar.

And after another few minutes, defender John Terry got his head to a free kick from Florent Malouda but the woodwork got in the way for an incredible third time.

And that wouldn’t be the end either. A 25-yard strike from Didier Drogba is directed onto the bar by keeper David James after which the ball bounces in according to some, but the referee correctly decides that it hadn’t.

And the Ivorian would do it again minutes later. This time he did beat the keeper, only for the ball to hit the bottom of the post and roll out for a corner.

In the second half, it was Portsmouth to get a huge opportunity as Aruna Dindane fouled Juliano Belletti in the area with a penalty as result. Kevin Prince-Boateng took the spot-kick but found Petr Cech in his way.

And just two minutes after the penalty, in the 59th, Chelsea finally broke the deadlock as Drogba powered home from a 25-yard free kick.

Chelsea won a penalty themselves on 88 minutes as Michael Brown fouled Lampard, who himself went on to direct the spot-kick wide of the left post.

But the Blues held on to their lead to win 1-0 and secure the league and cup double.
