Hereford United scraped into the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating League Two rivals Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 on Tuesday.
Frenchman Mathieu Manset scored the winner in the 32nd minute at Adams Park to secure the victory and set up a fourth round clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Hereford are facing relegation from League Two after a poor start to the season, and came into Tuesday’s encounter having lost 2-1 to Wycombe in the league just two weeks ago.
A deflected Manset shot was the best the visitors could muster in front of goal early on, before Kevin Betsy and captain Gareth Ainsworth both missed chances for Wycombe.
Manset found the winner soon afterwards, turning the ball in after Richard Rose had headed Stuart Fleetwood’s cross back across goal.
