(GSM) – Sevilla striker Luís Fabiano admits he will consider leaving the Spanish club in January if he is not granted regular first-team football.

The Brazil international has struggled to hold down a first-team spot at his club since returning from a decent World Cup campaign with Brazil as new Sevilla manager Gregorio Manzano prefers to play Frederic Kanouté and Alvaro Negredo up front.

Fabiano has only started one game and made just three substitute appearances in the Primera Division this season while failing to score a goal until now.

The 29-year-old, who signed a new deal with the club in the summer, has been linked with a host of top European clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Olympique Marseille, during the summer.

Now that the striker is apparently unsettled in Spain, clubs may be tempted to renew their interest in Fabiano, who admits he is passing through a ‘tough period’ and may ‘seek a solution’ in January if his current situation doesn’t change.

“I’m going through a tough period, but it isn’t the end of the world,” Fabiano told the club’s official website.

“I’m not thinking about leaving in January. I just want to play again.

“January is a long way away. I don’t know what will happen… If things remained the same in January I would seek a solution.

“I want continuity. I don’t want to play one game and spend the next on the bench.

“I don’t understand something that isn’t good for Sevilla. It isn’t good for me either.”

However, Fabiano’s agent, José Fuentes, has assured that there has not been any talks regarding the player’s transfer yet.
