Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was ruled out Thursday for three weeks after suffering a thigh injury in the Gunners’ 2-1 League Cup win over Liverpool.
Wednesday’s match at the Emirates Stadium was Fabianski’s first of the season after knee surgery and the Pole was on the field throughout.
But he is now set to miss more matches and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club’s official website, www.arsenal.com: “We lost Lukasz Fabianski with a thigh injury.
“He will be out for three weeks. Of course, it is big disappointment – because he has just come back from injury.”
Wenger will now choose between Vito Mannone and Manuel Almunia as his goalkeeper for the Saturday’s north London derby against Tottenham.
The French boss has also ruled Jack Wilshere (ankle), Theo Walcott (knee), Denilson (back) and Tomas Rosicky (knee) out of his plans.
