Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao has emerged as a target for former club Benfica, according to A Bola.
The Portugal international left the Eagles to complete a €30 million move to Santiago Bernabeu in July 2011, but he never quite managed to prove his worth in Spain.
Conetrao will return to Madrid when his season-long loan spell with Monaco comes to an end, but chances are he will again be moving clubs next summer.
A Bola claims that Benfica chairman Luis Felipe Vieira is determined to bring the 28-year-old back to Estadio da Luz, and he hopes the Eagles can reach an agreement with Real Madrid.
Conetrao has another three years left on his contract with los Blancos, but with the defender set to miss the start of next season through injury, he is likely to be made available for sale.
The highly rated footballer is set to miss the Euro 2016 finals after undergoing a surgery to repair a thigh problem.
