Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao has set his sights on leaving Santiago Bernabeu, reports AS.
The Portuguese defender missed out on a deadline day move to Manchester United, but has since signed a new deal at Santiago Bernabeu until June 2018.
However, AS understands that los Blancos only offered the player a new contract so as to earn more from his sale, seeing as how Coentrao remains keen on January exit.
The 25-year-old never quite managed to justify the €30 million transfer fee and went on to suggest that he was unhappy by the treatment at Santiago Bernabeu.
The latest report suggest that January exit on the cards, with clubs from England and Portugal showing interest in his services.
Fabio Coentrao has featured in mere 40 La Liga matches since arriving from Benfica in the summer of 2011, but he remains a first choice left-back for Portugal.
The Seleccao have somehow qualified for the 2014 World Cup and are priced at 5/1 to reach the semi-finals in Brazil.
