Arsenal attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira is on the verge of joining FC Porto in the summer transfer window, according to David Ornstein. The well-known and well-respected The Athletic has claimed that Porto will sign Vieira on a loan deal from Arsenal.
Ornstein wrote on X: “EXCL: Porto agree deal to re-sign Fabio Vieira on loan from Arsenal. Not in #AFC squad for #AVFC as #FCPorto finalise move to bring midfielder back after 2022 sale. Merino arrival + Nwaneri rise reduces minutes & 24yo needs regular action @TheAthleticFC.”
Vieira joined Arsenal from FC Porto in 2022. The 24-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder has had injury problems at the Gunners and is not guaranteed a place in the starting lineup. Vieira made two starts and nine substitute appearances I the Premier League for the Gunners last season. He scored one goal and gave two assists in those games. Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, while Porto are looking to clinch the Portuguese league.
