(GSM) – Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas is expected to have recovered from a leg injury in time to face Barcelona on Wednesday.

The influential midfielder picked up leg and knee injuries during the 1-1 draw with Birmingham at the weekend which immediately made him doubtful for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against the holders.

Arsenal are desperate to have their influential on-field leader in their team for the meeting with Pep Guardiola’s defending European champions.

However the player’s father Francesc says even though his son may not be 100 percent fit he will be ready to take on his former club at the Emirates Stadium.

“The blow hurts a lot less now and it seems to be just a knock, nothing more serious,” he told the Sun.

“I think Cesc will play. Although he may not be at his best he will do everything he can to be part of it,” his father explained.
