Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is out of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United.
Fabregas missed Arsenal’s midweek victory over Celtic in the Champions League after aggravating a hamstring injury against Portsmouth last weekend.
The Spain midfielder returned to training on Thurday and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had claimed that the positive session gave him hope Fabregas would feature at Old Trafford.
But, speaking on Friday, Wenger revealed that a fitness test suggested it was not worth risking Fabregas.
“Fabregas is out. His test was not conclusive this morning (Friday). Therefore he will not travel,” Wenger said.
“Ideally you want him to travel and to play but he would not be 100 per cent. Everybody else who played on Wednesday is ok.”
