(GSM) – Cesc Fabregas dreams of a Champions League final against Real Madrid after pledging his long-term future to Arsenal.
Fabregas is a product of Barcelona’s youth academy and was first taken to the Camp Nou at just nine months old and would love to play against their great rivals.
The Spanish midfielder, who has been ruled out injured for tonight’s clash with Porto, also says that being made captain has “increased my commitment” to the club.
“I want to play in the Champions League final in Madrid and against Real. That would be the maximum for me as an Arsenal player,” Fabregas Spanish TV station TVE.
“If we analyse the 16 clubs left then I believe that ten still have a chance to reach the final and we are on that list.” their midfielder is convinced they can do it as he also revealed his deep love for the club and the fans.
The Gunners will be without their captain tonight but Fabregas is confident his teammates can prevail against Porto who take a 2-1 lead to the Emirates.
“I have been at Arsenal for many years but I don’t see myself as the only leader,” added Fabregas.
“We are together as a team and I rely on my team mates to help me be successful. I am no more important than my team mates.
“But I am very united to the club and to the supporters. My role as captain has increased my commitment to Arsenal and I am happy there.”
