Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has escaped injury after he was involved in a minor car accident on his way to training on Monday.

The Gunners midfielder took part in the training session as normal after undergoing tests when he arrived at the club.

The incident occurred on the A41 road in Hendon, north west of London, just before 10am.

“Cesc was involved in a minor car accident on his way to training this morning (Monday),” an Arsenal club spokesman said.

“After the incident, Cesc made his way to our training ground in London Colney and took part in a training session as normal.”

“The police are fully aware of the incident.”

Police were called to the scene and confirmed no one involved in the accident required hospital treatment.

Fabregas has only just returned to the Gunners’ team after two weeks out with a hamstring injury.
