Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea want Thiago Silva stay

Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Chelsea plan to keep Thiago Silva at the club next season as well. The Brazilian central defender joined Chelsea on a one-year contract in the summer of 2020 on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.

Romano, who is a well-known and well-respected journalist and work for The Guardian and SkySport, has claimed that the Chelsea board are very happy with Silva. New manager Thomas Tuchel likes the Brazilian as well and considers him as a great leader.

Silva has played 17 times in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season, scoring two goals in the process, according to WhoScored. The 36-year-old has also made three appearances in the Champions League for the defending English champions, according to WhoScored. Chelsea are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
