Fabrizio Romano claims Ryan Bertrand will join Leicester City

Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Ryan Bertrand is on the verge of signing for Leicester City. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that there is an agreement between Leicester and the former Southampton left-back.

Romano has reported that Bertrand will sign a contract until June 2023 with an option to extend it by a further year. The former Premier League champions will make the announcement in the next few days.

Bertrand is a very good left-back who knows the Premier League inside out. The Englishman is still only 31, which means that he still has a few more years left in him at the highest level.

The former Chelsea left-back gave one assist in 29 Premier League matches for Southampton last season. Bertrand scored one goal and provided one assist in 32 Premier League appearances for the Saints in 2019-20.
