Russian newspaper Izvestia understands that Zenit midfielder Viktor Faizulin plans to leave the club at the end of the season.
Despite playing an important role in Luciano Spalletti’s side, the 27-year-old does not believe he has a future at Stadion Petrovskij and is hoping to join one of Russia’s other top clubs.
The club chiefs are unlikely to stand in the player’s way as he is not exactly a key member of the side, but they will not be selling him on the cheap either.
Faizulin has three years left on his deal at the club, but chances are he will request a transfer as soon as the current season draws to a close.
The combative midfielder joined Zenit from Spartak Nalchik in 2008 and has since made 121 league appearances for the club, scoring no less than 20 goals and winning two Russian Premier League titles in the process.
