Falcao closing in on Chelsea move

Chelsea are on the verge of completing a loan deal for Monaco star Radamel Falcao, according to Sky Sports.

The forward, who is currently in Chile for the Copa America with Columbia, spent last season with Manchester United but was largely underwhelming with just four goals in twenty-nine appearances in all competitions.

The 29 year old was keen to remain in England, and Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho is set to give him the opportunity as he looks to bring in a replacement for Didier Drogba, who hung up his boots at the end of last season.

Falcao moved to Monaco from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2013, while he has also played for River Plate and Porto.

Having won their first league title in five years back in May, Chelsea begin the defence of their crown at Stamford Bridge against Swansea City, with the home win priced at 3/10.
