Porto forward Radamel Falcao admits he would be open to joining new Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas at Stamford Bridge.

Villas-Boas, 33, was unveiled as the London club’s new boss on Wednesday, signing a three-year deal to take the post left vacant by Carlo Ancelotti.

Having taken Porto to the league title and Europa League crown, Villas-Boas could yet make a move for some of his former club’s brightest talents including Falcao, Hulk and Joao Moutinho.

Falcao, who reportedly has a 25 million pound buy-out clause, said he would be prepared to move to the English Premier League.

“I am leaving things up to my agent,” he told the Daily Star.

“I am very calm about the situation but I know there has been some movement.”

“My ambition is to keep working hard and I am convinced I can play in a superior league like England.”

“If Chelsea is interested in me then all that needs to happen is for negotiations to take place.”

Porto chairman Pinto da Costa admitted on Wednesday he feared the club would lose some of their best talent.

But he said if Chelsea were prepared to pay the release clauses, as they did with the 15 million euros for Villas-Boas, he would have no choice but to accept.

“If there are contracts with release clauses, we have to be prepared that some player might want to leave if the stipulated figure is met,” da Costa said.

“I will not go to any country to negotiate. Just like it happened with Andre Villas-Boas, there will be no talks. There is an account number and money deposited there.”

“We have not had any contact about the transfer of players and we do not know the intention of any one of them to leave.”
