Colombia international striker Radamel Falcao has insisted he is fully focused on Manchester United amid speculation linking him with a summer move to Italian Serie A leaders Juventus.
Falcao, who joined United on loan from AS Monaco on deadline day, has endured a nightmare loan spell at Old Trafford, having scored just four goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.
Although United are not expected to trigger the £43 million buy-option in the Falcao’s contract, the former Atletico Madrid and Porto star is still fully focused on giving his all to help Louis van Gaal’s side achieve their goal of securing UEFA Champions League football for next season.
Speaking to Colombian radio station Radio Caracol, Falcao said: “Juventus looking for me? They talk a lot, but now I’m focused 100 per cent on Manchester United.
“Before the end of the season, there are some crucial matches and I hope that this situation will change.”
Smalling happy at Man Utd
Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has revealed he is happy at the club, despite recent reports linking him with a summer switch to Arsenal.
According to reports, the England international, whose current deal at Old Trafford is set to expire in June 2016, has yet to open contract talks with club over an extension.
However, Smalling’s recent run of fine form could trigger such discussions, and rightly so.
When asked about his contract situation on Sunday, Smalling said: “That is one that I have not really discussed with anyone.
“The manager is showing his faith in me and, if I am playing, I’m happy.
“We have got another eight games, so we will look to finish as strong as we can.”
Asked whether he sees a long-term future at United, Smalling added: “Yes, I do. I am enjoying it, I have always enjoyed playing for United, especially at the minute.
“If I can contribute, as now, then I am happy to stay as long as they want me.”
Smalling has scored three goals in 18 English Premier League appearances for United in 2014/15.
In other news, England midfielder Jordan Henderson has revealed he is ready to commit his long-term future to Liverpool.
“I love playing football for Liverpool and I want to be there for many years,” said Henderson.
“In terms of my contract, I think everybody else will make a big deal of it but for me, it’s just letting my agent and the club deal with it and whenever it gets sorted, it gets sorted. All I want to do is my best for club and country.”
