According to the players’ father, Athletico Madrid striker Falcao is likely to be playing in the English Premier League during come the end of the January transfer window, the Daily Mail reports.
The 26-year-old is one of the highest-rated strikers in world football at the moment after scoring hat-trick in the Super Cup final against Chelsea on Friday, which was the second hat-trick he had scored in a week.
Chelsea and Manchester City are the teams that are said to be admires of Falcao, including a Russian side, which could be Zenit St Petersburg.
The Colombia international is one of the La Liga clubs most prized assets and they are sure to do everything they can to keep him in Spain, but the release clause in his contract could be triggered. This fee is believed to be around 55 million Euros.
His father, Radamel said: “Falcao has always wanted to play in the Premier League.”
Of course if a Premier League side did want to sign Falcao, then they will have to wait until January, whereas the Russian transfer window is still open so whichever side it is that are keen on the forward could make a move very soon.
It is certainly a fascinating story to keep an eye on.
