Falcao wants to stay at Athletico

Radamel Falcao insists that he is happy at Athletico Madrid despite plenty of attention from English Premier League and Russian clubs, Talk Sport reports.

The striker, who was superb for the La Liga side last season, has been linked with a move out of Spain for much of the summer.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City have all been reportedly keeping tabs on the 26-year-old during the transfer window, but he wants to stay at Atletico.

Falcao scored 24 goals in the Spanish top flight last campaign and also helped his team to Europa League success, scoring a brace in the final.

Russian club Anzhi were also willing to really splash the cash on the Colombia international by offering a bid believed to be in the region of €75m.

Despite all this interest though, Falcao wants to stay in the Spanish capital and help Atletico have another good campaign.

He will look to help them towards a top four finish, which they missed out on by just two points last time out.

There is of course still time for this all to change and if a team does come in with a big transfer and attractive contract offer – Falcao may change his mind.

    Ugh, so many errors…

    1. It’s Atletico, not Athletico

    2. He’s Colombian, not a Paraguay international…

C’mon, it’s not that hard to do your research…
