One of the most promising young South American defenders Eder Balanta has signed a deal with Swiss giants FC Basel.
The 23-year-old Colombia defender has signed a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee with the RotBlau.
Eder Balanta is a centre-back, who can also play on the left and who impressed at the 2014 World Cup although he only played one game at the global competition for his country.
His fine display prompted interest from Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
The River Plate defender was snapped by FC Basel this summer as Eder Balanta is making his move to Europe for the first time in his professional career after 52 league matches for Argentina giants since his arrival in 2013.
Banega began his career at Academia in 2010, but it was River Plate who gave this exciting prospect a professional debut in 2013.
