Under pressure to sign a replacement for the 21-year-old Matthieu Udol, the French Ligue 1 side FC Metz signed a free agent Julian Palmeri.
The experienced 30-year-old French midfielder has been out of contract until August when his deal with Lille expired and he signed a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Palmeri made 28 appearances for Lille last season during which he displayed his recognizable fighting spirit and relentlessness.
FC Metz have confirmed the deal on their official website by expressing hope the versatile French midfielder will be of great help in their relegation scrap.
Frederic Hantz’s side is sitting rock bottom of the Ligue 1 table with only three points after 12 rounds of competition. Having lost 11 matches thus far, FC Metz are under great pressure to improve their exploits when the competition resumes.
FC Metz travel to Toulouse on 18 November and can be backed at 21/5 to surprise the favoured hosts in this fixture.
