FC Porto defenders Bruno Martins Indi and Diego Reyes have made it clear they have no plans to return to Estadio do Dragao at the end of the season.
The Netherlands international was loaned to Stoke City last summer and he did well to get his career back on track, making 25 Premier League appearances.
The 25-year-old hopes the Potters will purchase his contract at the end of the season, but his long-term future remains in doubt.
“I have had a dialogue with the club. My intention is to stay here. Let’s see what happens,” Martins Indi said.
His fellow defender Diego Reyes is thinking the same having been in fine form since joining Espanyol on loan last summer.
The Mexican would also prefer to remain with his current club, but he admits that FC Porto will have the last say on his future.
“If it was up to me, I would stay at this club, but this is a decision that is not just mine,” the 24-year-old said at a press conference.
Following a successful loan stint with Real Sociedad, Diego Reyes went on to make 23 La Liga appearances for Espanyol, scoring one goal.
