FC Porto remain on stable course for the Portuguese title following a 2-0 win over Naval Primeiro de Maio on Saturday.

As is often the case at Porto, it was the Argentinian influence that made the difference. Mariano scored the opener on the half hour mark and Lucho Gonzalez doubled the advantage in the 68th minute.

Having played a game more, Porto’s lead over Sporting Lisbon now stands at seven points. Benfica follow at another point.

On Sunday, Sporting play an away match at Leixoes while Benfica travel to face Estrela Amadora.
