Portugal giants FC Porto have wrapped up a deal for the highly-talented Brazilian midfielder Luizao.
The news was confirmed by the club president Pinto da Costa, who told Jornal de Noticias newspaper that an agreement was reached with Sao Paulo over the transfer of the 19-year-old midfielder Luizao.
“Yes, the agreement exists and everything is agreed in principle”, he commented.
Luizao is expected to put pen to paper on a deal with FC Porto next week and will spend a couple of days in Portugals looking for his new home and getting acquainted with FC Porto training facilities before hitting back to Brazil.
Luizao will return to Portugal in the summer and will initially play for the reserve side.
Details over the transfer agreement have not been disclosed although it has been suggested that the top-rated midfield talent will be tied up with a €45 million release clause in his contract with the Portugal heavyweights known for their shrewd transfer dealings.
