The experienced Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas is edging closer to the end of the road with Portugal giants FC Porto.
The Real Madrid icon has been a hot subject in Portugal over the past few weeks due to a reported poor attitude in training which is said to have come as a huge disappointment for the Dragons coach Sergio Conceicao.
FC Porto boss moved on to downplay reports, praising Casillas’ behavior at the club but growing speculation has it that the Portuguese giants will attempt to push Iker Casillas out during the January transfer window.
The Dragons are keen to cut the costs and decrease the wage expenditure and will look to get the highest earner Casillas off of their books during winter.
Casillas joined FC Porto from Real Madrid in 2015 and is reportedly on a €5 million per season deal with the Portuguese heavyweights.
The 36-year-old shot stopper has been linked with a number of European clubs last summer and is not expected to be lacking interest once the transfer market reopens.
