Including back-to-back Serie A clean sheets against Fiorentina and Atalanta, Saturday’s hosts have now gone over 400 minutes without picking the ball out of the net on top-flight action. On the flip side, almost finding themselves sat in Serie A limbo, Bologna are in the midst of what has been a worrying blip since opening the New Year. Putting in an eye-catching display earlier in the week and storming their way to a 3-0 romp against Swindon on home soil, Tranmere have continued to impress almost everyone across League Two this season. Looking to go one step further after clinching a play-off spot last year, Micky Mellon’s men open Saturday’s fixtures holding a commanding six-point buffer from slipping out of the automatic promotion places. With the mood in their camp likely to be at a real high, the Merseyside-based outfit are also enjoying a hugely impressive run of form. In fact, this weekend’s hosts have remarkably lost just one of their previous 14 straight League Two outings, a run that stems all the way back to November 13th. Rightfully smelling a golden chance on their travels here, Mellon should also be boosted by his side’s recent success away from Prenton Park. Including a 1-0 win against fellow promotion contenders Exeter, Tranmere are unbeaten in each of their last five fixtures on the road. As for Saturday’s hosts, sacking manager Matt Taylor after just eight months in charge earlier in the week, it is fair to say that Walsall find themselves in the midst of a fourth-tier nightmare. Last seen in midweek getting hit with a 1-0 defeat away at Scunthorpe, the Saddlers have remarkably lost each of their last seven matchups across all formats.

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, putting in a stunning display when returning from the brief winter break last weekend, Bayer Leverkusen have gained a host of plaudits from across Germany this year. Breezing past Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on the road last time out, Head Coach Gerardo Seoane also finds his side sat in pole position to clinch a Champions League spot this season. Unbeaten since opening the New Year and winning each of their last three top-flight contests on the spin, Die Werkself have also found a remarkable free-scoring run in the final third. Including a 5-1 victory against Augsburg on January 22nd, Leverkusen have bagged 14 goals since opening 2022. With attacking talisman Moussa Diaby racking up four Bundesliga strikes in back-to-back appearances, the top-four contenders should also be boosted by a rampant record against Saturday’s guests. Landing a 3-1 win when they faced off against Stuttgart back in September, Seoane’s side are unbeaten in their last six meetings against the relegation scrappers, recording five wins. On the flip side, eventually marking their return to action with a 3-2 defeat at home against Eintracht Frankfurt, Die Roten have collected just a single point from any of their last six Bundesliga outings. Hit with a 5-2 drumming when they last made the trip to the BayArena, Leverkusen will be looking to lay down a real marker once again.
