February 26th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With a stacked weekend schedule from across Europe’s top-tiers on our hands, Saturday offers us a host of noteworthy meetings. For those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday February 26th

BST 15:00 Brentford vs Newcastle

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while Newcastle might have opened 2022 in the midst of a real struggle, they do appear to have breathed life back into their charge for survival. Last seen putting in another impressive display as they claimed a 1-1 draw away at Champions League outsiders West Ham, the mood in Eddie Howe’s camp should be at a real high. Despite dealing with some public injury issues at St. James’ Park, the former Bournemouth boss has seen his side find a route out of the drop zone. Now tipped as a standout pick to extend on their Premier League status this season, the Magpies are enjoying a real purple patch. Including three straight wins against Aston Villa, Everton and Leeds over the past month, Newcastle are unbeaten in each of their last six top-flight outings. Also managing to snatch a point against Manchester United on their recent charge, Saturday’s guests will be looking to cash in on a downbeat Brentford side. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 defeat away at Arsenal, the Bees have come tumbling down the Premier League table and are firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. It should be highlighted, the top-flight debutants have managed to collect just a single point from any of their last eight attempts. Given the recent gulf in class, an away draw no bet certainly appears at attractive odds here.

Tip: Newcastle draw no bet @ 1/1

15:00 Luton Town vs Derby County

Last seen earlier in the week putting in another stellar display, Luton have only continued to shock almost everyone across the Championship once again this season. Skyrocketing their way up the table and now remarkably sat just two points adrift of finding a route into the play-off places, Nathan Jones’ side should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Claiming a deserved 2-1 win away at Stoke a few days ago, Saturday’s hosts have now won five of their previous six matchups across all formats. Likewise, with their purple patch highlighted by a 2-0 win against former Premier League outfit West Brom last weekend, the Hatters have also lost just one of their last eight outings. Even more impressive, it should also be highlighted that Luton are unbeaten at Kenilworth Road since way back on November 27th. Knowing that another victory here could push them into the top-six, Jones’ side should be smelling a chance here. While Derby might have their sights set on pulling off a great escape this season, Wayne Rooney’s men are struggling to keep up their recent momentum. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 defeat at home against Millwall, the Rams have won just a pair of their last seven outings. Facing a stern test here, it’s worth highlighting that the former England skipper has seen his side lose each of their last four contests away from Pride Park.

Tip: Luton Town win @ 20/23

17:30 Rayo Vallecano vs Real Madrid

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while Real Madrid would have been disappointed to have suffered that late 1-0 defeat away at PSG on Champions League duties earlier in the month, Los Blancos certainly found an immediate boost. Last seen storming their way to a 3-0 victory against relegation scrappers Alaves, Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti finds his side sat in pole position to claim another La Liga crown this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures still holding a commanding six-point buffer over Sevilla, the former Everton boss will be smelling the chance to lay down another marker here. Although the Spanish giants might have struggled with their consistency somewhat of late, the Whites have lost just one of their previous 17 La Liga matchups, a run that stems back to October 3rd. Hoping to widen their buffer at the top of the table this weekend, it is well worth keeping an eye out for attacking talisman Karim Benzema on Saturday evening. Once again finding the net against Alaves last time out, the 34-year-old has racked up 18 strikes in his 22 top-flight outings this season. On the flip side, last seen getting hit with a deserved 2-1 loss at the hands of Elche on the road, Los Franjirrojos find themselves in the midst of a real nightmare. Including a woeful 3-0 drumming against Osasuna on home soil earlier in the month, Rayo Vallecano have lost each of their last four matchups on the spin.
