February 2nd: Sunday’s European Double – 7/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With another stacked schedule from across Europe’s elite, all eyes will fall on north London when Arsenal welcome Manchester City to the capital on Sunday afternoon.

With plenty of European heavyweights stealing centre stage across Sunday afternoon, we have fixtures from the likes of Ligue 1 and La Liga.

For those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing European betting tips.

16:15 Angers vs Le Havre

While Angers might have only made their Ligue 1 return this season, Le Scoistes have continued to gain plenty of plaudits. Getting this weekend’s fixtures underway with within touching distance of finding a route into the top-half, Alexandre Dujeux’s side have gained a reputation for their rugged approach. Despite falling to a 1-0 loss away at Lens last weekend, that is the only defeat that they have suffered from any of their previous six appearances across all competitions. Likewise, winning five of those six showdowns, Angers will be excited to make a return to home soil here. Getting the New Year underway with a 2-0 victory against Champions League outfit Brest, Sunday’s hosts have secured consecutive Ligue 1 wins at the Stade Raymond Kopa. Yet to concede a goal in front of their own supporters since returning from France’s festive interval, Le Scoistes should be smelling a golden opportunity this weekend.

Although Le Havre might have eventually clung to their Ligue 1 status last season, Sunday’s hosts have an almighty job on their hands this time around. Sat rock-bottom of the table and pencilled in as a leading relegation contender in 2025, Didier Digard’s men have continued to show a string of issues. Putting in a toothless display last weekend as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at home against Brest, the Dean Club have collected just a single point from any of their previous seven consecutive Ligue 1 appearances – a rut that stems all the way back to November 24th. Shockingly crashing out of the Coupe de France on December 21st as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against fourth-tier outfit Stade Briochin. Losing four of their previous five trips to the Stade Raymond Kopa, Le Havre should have another tough test on their hands this weekend.

16:30 Arsenal vs Manchester City

Managing to avoid what would have been an infamous Champions League exit on Wednesday night as they dragged themselves to a 3-1 victory against Club Brugge, Manchester City will know that they dodged a real bullet at the Etihad. However, while Pep Guardiola’s men might have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous nine appearances across all competitions, the Sky Blues have struggled to find any real stability. Suffering a sensational European collapse away at French giants PSG on January 22nd as they fell to a 4-2 loss, City have also continued to show some real issues outside the blue half of Manchester. Including a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa over the festive period, Guardiola’s side have remarkably won just a pair of their last 12 consecutive showdowns away from the etched – a rut that stems all the way back to October 20th.

Signing off their respective Champions League group stage adventure with a 2-1 victory away at Spanish outfit Girona on Wednesday night, Arsenal are enjoying what has become a recent flurry. However, with their Premier League title dreams hanging in the balance here, Mikel Arteta’s squad face a must-win showdown at the Emirates. Including a 2-1 win against arch-rivals Tottenham on January 15th, Sunday’s hosts have collected 13 points from their previous five appearances across all competitions. Despite eventually having to settle for a dramatic 2-2 stalemate against Aston Villa in their most recent showdown in north London, Arsenal have suffered just a single Premier League defeat in front of their own supporters since December 2023. Likewise, claiming a 1-0 victory when they welcomed Manchester City to the Emirates last season, Arteta’s men will be confident of collecting a heavyweight scalp.
