February 5th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With the FA Cup taking center stage this weekend, we have another stacked schedule from across Europe. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday February 5th

BST 14:30 Augsburg vs Union Berlin

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while Union Berlin might have only just missed out on a top-six finish last season, the Reds have once again gained a host of plaudits from across Germany. In the midst of what could become a famous campaign in Köpenick, Urs Fischer’s men were last seen heading into the brief winter break with an eye-catching 2-1 win away at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Marking their return to action sat fourth in the table and with a stunning Champions League spot at the top of their agenda this season, Union have won each of their last three Bundesliga contests on the spin. Likewise, with their recent purple patch highlighted by a stellar 3-2 win against local rivals Hertha Berlin on January 19th, Fischer’s side have also continued to shine with their displays on the road. Mustering 10 points from just their last four top-flight matchups outside of Köpenick, a struggling Augsburg could be in for another tough test here. Last seen signing off January with a woeful 5-1 drumming at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen, Saturday’s hosts have managed to win just one of their last eight Bundesliga matchups, a run that stems back to that stunning victory against Bayern Munich on November 19th. Given the recent gulf in class, an away win here certainly appears at attractive odds.

Tip: Union Berlin win @ 6/4

15:00 Peterborough vs QPR

Putting in what was a stellar display on home soil last weekend and breezing their way to a 4-0 romp against Reading in the capital, it is fair to say QPR have shocked almost everyone across the Championship this season. With a remarkable Premier League return at the top of their wish list this year, Mark Warburton’s men are enjoying a real purple patch. Battling it out in the top-two chase, the one-time Rangers boss finds his side enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run across all formats, recording six wins. With the mood in their camp at a red-hot high since opening 2022, the Hoops have also continued to shine outside of west London. It should be highlighted, Saturday’s guests have won each of their last four Championship matchups on the road by a 2-1 scoreline. Turning their attention back to FA Cup duties this weekend, there is no doubt that QPR should be smelling a golden chance when they make the trip to a downbeat Peterborough here. Last seen getting hit with what was a deserved 2-0 defeat at home against Sheffield United, the Posh are really in a battle to avoid the drop this season. Collecting just a single point from any of their last four Championship matchups, a run highlighted by a 4-1 drumming against Coventry, we’re backing an away victory here.

Tip: QPR win @ 23/20

17:30 Swansea vs Blackburn Rovers

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while Blackburn might have been disappointed to have had to settle for a single point away at Luton last weekend, Blackburn will be smelling a golden chance here. Only continuing to shock many across the Championship and sat in pole position to book a top-two finish this season, Tony Mowbray’s men have remarkably lost just one of their last 13 second-tier matchups, a run that stems all the way back to November 3rd. Hoping to welcome back attacking talisman Ben Brereton Díaz from international duties this weekend, the Rovers will also be boosted by their most recent meeting against last year’s play-off finalists. Claiming a deserved 2-1 win when they welcomed Swansea to Ewood Park for their reverse meeting in August, Russell Martin’s struggling squad should be bracing themselves for another tough test in south Wales. Coming under more scrutiny in midweek after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Luton on home soil, the Whites have lost back-to-back Championship matchups and have just a single win to their name from their last nine outings. Likewise, it should also be noted that the former MK Dons boss has seen his side lose four of their last five matchups at the Liberty, including a 4-1 drumming against Nottingham Forest.

Tip: Blackburn Rovers draw no bet @ 1/1
