Nabil Fekir has parted ways with his agent ahead of the summer transfer window.
Speaking to French outlet Europe 1, Jean-Pierre Bernes, now the former representative of the France international, confirmed that their working relationship had come to an end. He said that t was Fekir who decided to terminate their cooperation, and hinted that a difference in opinion on Fekir’s future and his behaviour was the reason behind it.
The attacking midfielder was on the verge of joining Liverpool last summer, but the deal fell through at the last possible moment, reportedly due to medical reasons. It was believed for a while that the current Premier League leaders would revive their interest, but they never have.
Bernes added that it was very difficult for him to secure a move to one of top 10 European clubs for his former client, and expressed his view that it is usually the top clubs themselves who initiate contact – when they want to sign a top player.
