A report from the Metro suggests that Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini is a target for both Chelsea and Russian big-spenders Zenit St Petersburg in the January transfer window.
The Belgium international has been superb for the Toffees in the English Premier League this campaign and it seems as though his form is not going unnoticed.
He has said that he wants to play Champions League football soon and both Chelsea and Zenit look in strong positions to deliver that next season.
However, Everton themselves are looking as though they can challenge for a space in the top four – so Fellaini might try and hold out for a deal until the summer.
But the Blues and the Russian Champions are keen to sign him in the New Year and could be ready to go head to head to secure his services.
Fellaini is likely to edge more towards a move to Stamford Bridge as he would continue to play in England. Zenit might be willing to offer him a mega-deal that he cannot refuse though.
The ball does sit in Everton’s court though and they don’t seem to be under much pressure to sell Fellaini. Although if he wants to go, David Moyes might cash-in on him.
