Fellaini injury to force United transfer surge?

Manchester United manager David Moyes is set to delve into the transfer market when the window reopens following the news that Marouane Fellaini will be out for two months, the Metro understands.

The Belgium international has struggled for fitness since arriving from Everton in transfer deadline day, starting just four league games for the club, and now looks set to be out until February with a wrist problem that will require surgery.

United were already short in the centre of the park, and were likely to make a move for a player in that position regardless of Fellaini’s condition.

The champions travel to Hull City on Boxing Day looking to continue a good run of form which has seen them win each of their last four games in all competitions.

They can be backed at a price of 4/7 to take all three points against former defender Steve Bruce’s side.
