Fenerbahce announce Emre deal

Atletico Madrid midfielder Emre Belezoglu has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce, the Turkish club announced on their official website.

The Turkish giants managed to persuade their former player to return to Sukru Saracoglu, but they have yet to reach an agreement with Emre’s current club.

Fenerbahce were hoping Atletico Madrid would terminate the player’s contract, which would allow them to sign him on a free transfer, but it appears los Colchoneros are not prepared to waive a transfer fee.

Emre Belezoglu, who has a year and a half left on his deal at Vicente Calderon, joined Atletico on a free transfer from Fener last summer, but has only been used sparingly this season.

The 32-year-old made just 7 La Liga appearances for the club, although he did feature in all six Europa League group games.

Emre is now keen to return to Fenerbahce and it is believed Atletico Madrid chiefs will not stand in his way.
