Portuguese daily O Jogo has suggested that Fenerbahce have submitted an official proposal for Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo.
The Turkish giants have been following the Paraguayan for a while now, and they were quite impressed with his performance when the two sides met in the Europa League semi-final this season.
Cardozo scored a brace in the return leg to help his side overturn a one-goal deficit and qualify for the competition final.
As soon as the season finished, Fenerbahce decided to make a move on the experienced forward, submitting a €10 million bid for his services.
Benfica are holding out for €15 million, but it is believed the two clubs will be able to reach an agreement eventually.
The Eagles are ready to cash in on their star player, who has scored over 100 Primeira Liga goals since arriving from Newell’s Old Boys.
Cardozo, 30, clashed with coach Jorge Jesus following the Taca de Portugal final defeat to Vitoria Guimaraes, with the incident pushing him towards the Estadio da Luz exit door.
