(GSM) – A first-half goal by Andre Santos was all Fenerbahçe needed on Sunday to earn a 1-0 victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Fenerbahçe had cries for a penalty denied in the first half when Diego Lugano went down in a tussle with Radoslav Batak, but Santos struck in the 33rd minute to put the home side ahead.

Off a counterattack, Daniel Güiza found Santos charging up the middle of the pitch, and the Brazilian ran 50 yards one-on-one with goalkeeper Omer Catkic before slotting home.

Despite both sides getting their chances in the second half, the second goal never came and Fenerbahçe claimed the victory.

The victory moves Fenerbahçe to within two points of leaders Galatasaray, who still have tomorrow’s match at Eskisehirspor in hand.
